Used motorcycle prices vary a lot due to the large number of factors involved.
Prices depend on supply and demand! For high offers and low demands, used motorcycle prices drop the same way as with the accessories e.g. biker sunglasses prices. Prices will go down when there are lots of bikes for sale but fewer buyers. It is in spring and summer that used motorcycle prices increase, while they stay low in autumn and winter.
The popularity of the model also influences used motorcycle prices.
Popular models, with additional extras like motorcycle audio speakers, are more expensive. There are models that sell well right from the beginning while others never get famous. If you are willing to buy a solid but less popular bike, you will see that used motorcycle prices are pretty convenient. A not so popular one or two-year old model will come cheaper.
Where to shop?
Private owners are cheaper than dealers. The fact is that used motorcycle prices in dealerships also include a commission. Yet, each of these sellers come with pros and cons. Unlike dealers, private owners just want to take some of the money they paid back. They can’t get the initial price, but they can minimize the loss.
Mileage determines used motorcycle prices!
The mileage of the bike per category influences the sale price. Adventure motorcycles and sport tourers come with a higher mileage, but if the engine brand has the reputation of lasting well, then you can make huge savings here. Lots of dealers will be willing to drop the used motorcycle prices for those bikes with a mileage that makes them difficult to sell.
The technical inspection!
The motorcycle condition especiaslly in the case of vintage scooters, have a great impact used motorcycle prices. There are signs that you can read to find out how well the bike has been maintained. Then, the usage level varies in bikes used for commuting and bikes used for racing. Whenever there is something out of norm for a certain bike, its value will be lower.
Service history!
Any past technical problem will be recorded in the service book. Used motorcycle prices will be lower for bikes that don’t have a complete service history or that have been serviced at home by the rider. It may be safer to buy a used motorcycle that has had all the maintenance operated under warranty. The context matters a lot!

I just bought a new place out in the country and am excited about moving my family there. Although I’m now faced with a longer commute to and from work, I think the move will be worth it. We’re going to be in a very nice, safe area with good schools and lots of space for the kids to play. Our previous house undoubtedly had a better location, but that was about the only positive aspect of living in the city. I have a feeling that our lives will be much different from now on.
One interesting thing about the new property is that it has a small motocross track built out back. I rode dirt bikes when I was younger, but had to give them up when I went to college. Now I’ll definitely be purchasing a couple of motorcycles for myself and the kids to try to get them interested in riding. I’m already looking for those, and have been checking out used motorcycle trailers as well so we can haul our bikes when we’re ready for a bigger track.
Since we have our own course in the backyard, I can take my time in searching through the eBay listings for used motorcycle trailers to make sure I get a great deal on whatever I end up buying. There’s no hurry to get set up with a trailer, because I doubt that the boys will be ready for any track other than our own for at least six months (probably more). We won’t have to worry about moving the bikes anywhere, so I can research used motorcycle trailers thoroughly to figure out which ones represent the best bargains and retain their trade value the longest.
And who knows, maybe the boys will turn out to be naturals on their bikes. If that happens, we might start taking motocross a bit more seriously, traveling to bigger, better, and more challenging tracks for practice and races. If that turns out to be the case, our next purchase might have to be a motorhome instead of another one of those used motorcycle trailers. I know that motorhomes are popular with motocross families because racetracks are usually located well off the beaten path, far away from quality lodgings. Having a motorhome with a kitchenette, shower, sleeping quarters, plus room for the bikes would be much more convenient than those bare-bones used motorcycle trailers that don’t come with any amenities.
Anyway, I know I’m getting way ahead of myself here. My boys haven’t even thrown a leg over a bike yet, and I’m already imagining them becoming the next amateur champions! For now, I’ll just continue looking at bikes and used motorcycle trailers until I come across something reasonable, and then take things from there. I can’t wait for this opportunity to bond with my sons in a whole new way!

Shopping for used motorcycle parts can be a real challenge, like to get stylish leather motorcycle gloves or sunglasses, but your success depends on a number of factors. First of all, you need to decide whether used motorcycle parts are a good choice for your purposes. There are situations when only new replacements should be used to repair the bikes. There are two main options here: to buy from private owners or to shop from dealers.
The purchase of used motorcycle and scooters parts has become a lot easier thanks to the electronic market. Sometimes the parts that you need are not available, and you have to search in various places for them. It could really be a problem when nobody has the spare parts you need. The best solution would be to try private owners rather than dealers, or contact second hand retailers repeatedly. Even if the parts are not in stock at the moment, they may become available some time in the near future.
Ask questions before you buy anything. You should also check the technical condition and the features of the used motorcycle parts in order to decide whether they are a viable choice or not. For used items, many dealers don’t take the responsibility. You have to test the parts for functionality too. Check whether the retailer has any refund/return policy, in case you need that. Companies that provide such a facility are preferable to all the rest.
When you shop for used motorcycle parts with a brand name dealership chances are higher that you are on a safe and secure way. There are more guarantees here and dealers set the prices at the market level. General dealerships and auctions are other places to buy used motorcycle parts, but it is absolutely essential for you to be knowledgeable. It is amateurs who make the poorest deals of all.
Before closing any transaction, make sure to read the general purchase terms. When you pay for the used motorcycle parts in cash, chances are higher for the seller to lower the price a little. These are the cases when you can best negotiate in the transaction.

Never go shopping without someone with mechanical or technical training who knows a lot about bikes. Used motorcycle sales represent a great chance to make a good deal, but you may also risk to spend on a bike that is not worthy the investment.
