An Overview Of Electric Cars |
over recent years there has been significant investment in the electric car it is obvious that their importance will continually increase over time. Their use among the majority of the population however remains some way off. For example, many have the view that electric cars are a lot more costly than traditional cars. Furthermore, some argue that the facilities for supporting the running of these cars have not been implemented on a large enough scale yet.
Many have pointed out however that although the cars do cost a bit extra initially, the cost of running the car is much cheaper than that of a traditional car. Users of electric cars have also highlighted that they are not as much of a drastic change when compared with owning a traditional car with many owners simply charging their cars up over night and not usually needing to charge them when out and about. The range of electric cars is also continually increasing with the first electric powered 4×4 being unveiled in 2010.
Due to their infancy, electric cars are continually being experimented on with a variety of design variations being tested. The electric car battery is one area currently being looked in to by a variety of car companies. One major car manufacturer is currently looking into the idea of turning the car body into a battery.
With the government continually pushing for the use of renewable energy it would appear that in many respects the future looks bright for electric cars. Whether or not electric cars become popular with the masses remains to be seen, however the move towards cleaner technology is becoming more prevalent in the car industry. Car models including the Colt are a good example of a modern day car which has little impact on the environment.
